Elrora Liveaboard

One night on board, two days on the route

Updated 2 November 2026

Two days and one night on Elrora Liveaboard suit a first visit with little time. Day one takes in Kelor and Kalong; day two takes in Padar, Pink Beach and the reefs. It is a sample route for a private charter, priced on request, with 1 night on board.

Ask for the quote

Is one night on the water enough for a first visit?

Enough for the headline sights, not for all of them. One night buys you a short hike, a sunset with the Kalong bats, then sunrise on Padar and two reef stops the next day. Komodo Island and its dragons are not included; they need the longer route.

The route below is a sample. The final order of stops is agreed with the captain and depends on the weather. A private charter sets the check-in time with your date; the 10:00 to 10:30 check-in applies to open trips, which are 3D2N only.

Pick this length when your time in Labuan Bajo is short and you would rather see Padar properly than chase more stops.

Day 2

What happensHave ready
Padar Islandshoes with grip, hat and water
Pink Beachreef-safe sunscreen

Taka Makassarmask and snorkel

These stops swap order with tide and wind: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.

Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Check-in and check-out are the only times we hold ourselves to.

Day one: Kelor in the afternoon, Kalong at dusk

A charter on the open-trip pattern boards around 10:00 in Labuan Bajo; we fix the exact time with you when we confirm the date. You settle into your cabins as Elrora sails for Kelor Island.

Kelor is a short, steep climb, so wear shoes with grip and bring a hat and water. The viewpoint over the bay is the reward for the first afternoon. Afterwards the boat moves toward Kalong, where the bats leave the mangroves at dusk and the party watches from the deck.

You sleep on board. Which bay she rests in is the captain's choice on the evening itself, guided by the weather, so we never name it in advance.

Morning two: the Padar ridge, Pink Beach, then the reefs

The second day starts with the climb up Padar for the view over three bays. Sunrise there comes at 06:14 in June and 05:31 in November, and the party leaves the boat before it. Wear sturdy shoes.

After the descent, the boat moves to Pink Beach for a swim and a snorkel over the reef close to the shore. Manta Point and Taka Makassar come next, in whatever order the tide and current allow. Mantas feed here, and no one can promise them.

Elrora reaches Labuan Bajo again in the late afternoon, at an hour set with the captain. Any onward flight belongs in the evening, or better, the following day.

What a one-night quote spells out

The price of a 2D1N charter is on request. We write it down for your dates and your head count before you pay. The quote states the number of nights, the cabins in use, what is included and what is not.

Included are the cabins, meals on board, drinking water, coffee and tea, snorkelling gear with life vests and the stops on the route as the weather allows. Outside the quote are park tickets, drinks other than those, crew tips, flights and travel insurance.

Neither a guide nor photo or video work comes with a private charter. If you want either, we price it on its own line, and nothing is added without your written agreement.

What the short route leaves out on purpose

Komodo Island is not on this route, which means no ranger-led walk to the dragons. A first visit without them leaves many guests wanting to come back. The three-day route adds the island and one more reef.

There is no slow morning either. Day two runs on from the early Padar start, and the pace stays brisk all day. Young children and grandparents find it tiring; the three-day pattern is kinder to them.

If you have one night, this sample works. If you have two, take the three-day route; ask, and we put both quotes side by side. Two nights also give you a second evening on board and a last reef, Sebayur or Kanawa, on the third morning.

FAQ

Is two days and one night enough to see Komodo?

It is enough for Kelor, Kalong, Padar, Pink Beach and the reefs, and it leaves out Komodo Island and the dragons. One night on board keeps the pace brisk. Parties who want the dragon walk, or a slower day two, are better served by the three-day route.

Can I see Komodo on a day trip instead?

Other operators run day trips from Labuan Bajo. Elrora is a liveaboard, and her shortest trip is 2D1N, sold as a private charter. A day cannot hold Padar at sunrise and Kalong at dusk, which are the two moments the overnight route is built around.
