Elrora Liveaboard

The three-day route with a fourth day for the water

Updated 2 November 2026

The four-day route on Elrora Liveaboard adds a slower fourth day to the 3D2N plan: Siaba, Sebayur and Kanawa, with an unhurried return in the late morning. It runs as a private charter only, quoted on request for your dates, for parties of up to 14 guests.

The fourth day: why some parties ask for it

The three-day route is packed. Its second day alone holds a sunrise climb, a dragon walk and two reefs, and the last morning has room for only one snorkel stop. Some parties want those hours spread out.

The fourth day does that. It moves Taka Makassar and Manta Point to the third day, adds Siaba, and keeps Sebayur and Kanawa for the last morning. Nothing is cut from the shorter route, and nothing is rushed.

This is a private charter route. Open-trip sailings on this boat are 3D2N only, so a four-day trip means the whole boat for your party. We check your window before quoting, since four days need four free days in a row. Families travelling with grandparents, and couples who hate to hurry, ask for it most.

These stops swap order with tide and wind: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.

Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Check-in and check-out are the only times we hold ourselves to.

Mornings one and two follow the three-day pattern

Day one matches the shorter route: you board at the pier, climb Kelor, snorkel at Manjarite and watch the Kalong bats at dusk. The captain picks the night anchorage with the weather in mind.

Day two also matches: Padar at sunrise, Pink Beach and Komodo Island with a ranger. The difference is the evening. On the three-day route, the party presses on to Taka Makassar and Manta Point after Komodo Island. Here, the reef stops wait until the next day.

The afternoon of day two is then free for a swim or a rest in the shade. The youngest in a family can nap after the climb; a couple can watch a long sunset from the upper deck with nothing else planned.

Day three: the extra reef instead of a rush

The third day holds three snorkel stops: Taka Makassar, Manta Point and Siaba. Taka Makassar is a sandbar that appears only at low tide, so it takes its place in the sequence from the tide. Manta Point has a current, and mantas are common there but never guaranteed.

With a whole day for three stops, nobody has to leave the water early. Slow swimmers stay out longer, and guests who prefer the deck stay there.

Tide, current and weather decide the order, and the captain makes the call. We print the stops and not the hours, because the hours are the captain's to set. Shorter spells in the water leave energy for the evening, which is exactly what this version is for.

The extra morning and an unhurried return

The fourth morning is for Sebayur and Kanawa, two easy reefs with beaches, and for a late breakfast before the boat turns back. The return to Labuan Bajo is in the late morning, at a time agreed with the captain.

Because the return is not at a fixed clock hour, flights on the last day need a margin. A flight after 14:00 is the safe choice. If an earlier flight is unavoidable, mention it when you book and the stops are planned around it.

The price of the fourth day is on request, like every private charter on this boat. We do not print a per-night figure, because the cost depends on the date. You receive the number in writing and compare it with the three-day quote if you wish.

Quoting the extra night

A fourth day means a third night on board, and the quote counts it as one more night of the whole boat. We write the figure for your date after you tell us the nights, the number of guests and any pickup you want.

The quote states what is included and what is not. Cabins, meals on board, drinking water, coffee and tea, and snorkelling gear with life vests are inside. Park tickets, other drinks, crew tips, flights and insurance are outside, and so are a guide and photo or video coverage, which can be added on request.

Read it at your own pace; nothing is payable until you accept it.

Writing the extra day into your booking

Say four days and three nights in your first message, with a start date and the number of guests. We check the boat for those four days, because a longer trip needs a longer free window.

The booking then follows its usual order: a written quote, a deposit of 50%, and the remainder 30 days before you sail. We confirm the cabin plan and the pickup in writing. If you later shorten the trip to three days, tell us as soon as you know, and the quote is rewritten. A change of that kind before 30 days costs nothing; the terms page sets out the rest. Passport details are collected 7 days before sailing for the park and the harbour.

FAQ

Are three days and two nights enough for Komodo?

Three days cover the main sights, Padar at sunrise and the dragon walk among them, but they are full days. Parties who want an easier pace or more hours on the reef ask for a fourth day, which on this boat is a private charter and is quoted on request.

What does the fourth day change about the return?

On day four the boat returns to the pier in the late morning, at an hour agreed with the captain, rather than at 11:00 on the third day. Flights on that day need a margin, and an afternoon departure after 14:00 is the safe choice.
