Nine stops inside and beside the park, in the order the boat meets them

Updated 2 November 2026

Komodo National Park holds nine stops on Elrora's routes, from a short climb on Kelor to the reefs of Manta Point. The three-day route calls at eight: seven set stops, then a final snorkel at Sebayur or Kanawa, chosen by the captain.

Plan your stops

Nine stops on the routes we run

Nine places make up Elrora's routes. Kelor and Kalong come first. The middle day belongs to Padar and Pink Beach, then Komodo Island, then the sandbar of Taka Makassar and the open reef of Manta Point. Sebayur or Kanawa ends the route. Each has its own page, and each page keeps to what is widely established about the place and what the boat does there.

Some stops are walks. Padar, Kelor and Komodo Island ask for sturdy shoes and a little time on foot. Some are reefs: Pink Beach, Taka Makassar, Manta Point, Sebayur and Kanawa are snorkelling stops, where Elrora carries snorkel gear with life vests. One is a sight watched from the deck, Kalong at dusk.

Because the stops differ so much in effort, each page says how long its walk takes, how deep its reef is and what a slower walker or a nervous swimmer should expect. Every stop depends on weather, tide and the captain's decision, and none is promised. Park tickets are paid separately from the fare, and the park fees page gives the rates.

Which stop on which day

On the three-day route the first day takes Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong at dusk. Day two runs from Padar to Pink Beach and Komodo Island, and on to Taka Makassar and Manta Point; the tide can swap those last two. The third day ends with one more snorkel stop, Sebayur or Kanawa, and the pier at 11:00.

A private party can ask for a longer route. The four-day sample adds Siaba, Sebayur and Kanawa, and the two-day sample drops Komodo Island and the third-day reef. Longer or private routes can include a stop the open trip does not, if the captain agrees.

Open-trip guests check in between 10:00 and 10:30 on the first day and leave between 11:00 and 11:30 on the third.

Choosing stops for your party

Choose by legs and by eyes. A party with grandparents or small children will want to know which walks are short: Kelor takes 15 to 30 minutes, Padar 25 to 45, and Komodo Island 45 to 120 depending on the trail the rangers allow.

Swimmers should read Manta Point first, since it has the strongest current among the reefs. Taka Makassar and Kanawa are the gentler ones. A party that came for photographs should read Padar and Kalong, which are decided by the hour.

Whatever you choose, tell us who is in the party. Say what each person wants from the days. We cannot move the park. We can say which stops will suit you, and which will ask for effort.
